The Camcorder makes its return with a slightly different HUD and overall appearance and can be used to record unfolding events within Temple Gate. is has been rebuilt from scratch and their patterns differ from the first game. Philippe Morin also noted that enemy A.I. This, however, takes a few seconds and can be disrupted by nearby enemies. Players can restore health by bandaging their wounds. The movement system was also reworked allowing players to slide when running. There is a limited sprint mechanic, which will decrease player character's stamina over time. Players are able to run and crouch behind objects to avoid their pursuers, prone beneath obstacles, as well as hide within various places, whether it be a barrel, locker, tall grass or a pool of water. Developers commented that in this way, they can repurpose all the assets from previous games, such as animations, scripts, etc.
Nota 6.Like the two previous titles, the game is built in Unreal Engine 3, but slightly modified.
I should warn people that this game is extremely graphic, and contains some truly fucked up scenes, so if you are squeamish, or triggered by violence/torture, I'd caution you to steer clear. I can't say I understood everything they were trying to do with the story, but there is enough there to get the gist, and those who seek out all the collectible notes will have a fuller understanding. There aren't that many games like this out there, and even fewer with this level of polish. Overall I had a great time with Outlast 2. I didn't personally find it too scary, but that will vary from person to person. Instead, they've done the hard work of utilizing exceptional sound design, lighting, and framing to induce the creeps.
Outlast 2 plot Ps4#
Super high quality textures and atmospheric lighting really pull you into this nightmare world, and the frame rate hums at a locked 60 fps (I played on PS4 Pro).Ĭontrary to my expectations, Red Barrels does not lean heavily on jump scares, though there are a few. Though Outlast 2 is a few years old at this point, it stands out as one of the best-looking games I've played. The production quality in general is superb. The environments are thoughtfully designed to nudge the player in the right direction, even when the lighting is minimal and you are hauling ass away from whatever creepy bastard is chasing you.
The direction is really solid, seamlessly shifting between the past and present timelines without any load screens. I haven't played many modern horror games, but this has to be one of the better offerings out there.
